James Garvan M.I.S.C.P.
We would like to introduce our newest team member James.
James graduated from University College Cork in 2012 with a B.Ed in Sports Studies and Physical Education. After a few years working both in Ireland and the UK in this field he then pursued a degree a Physiotherapy. In 2018 he then graduated from the BSc Physiotherapy programme at the Royal College of Surgeons
During his time at the RCSI James contributed significantly to support clinical research. His project examining 'Balance, Gait and Dizziness in Adult Patients post Cochlear Implant' was published in 2020 in the Cochlear Implants International Journal.
Since graduation James has accumulated extensive experience both in public and private sectors. He completed all core rotations in Saint Vincent's University Hospital (MSK, orthopedic inpatients cardiorespiratory and neuro/stroke rehab) and developed an array of treatment techniques from his three years in the acute hospital environment.
James has a significant interest in athletic development and sports rehabilitation.
In addition to his role at Pearse Street Physiotherapy he also has been physiotherapist for Old Wesley Under 20s RFC team for the past three years. He has a firm commitment to further developing his clinical skillset and is currently completing a MSc in Strength and Conditioning.
Outside of clinic time James enjoys playing Gaelic Football with Naobh Olafs GAA club and travelling!
